Description
This exquisite 50×50 cm Medicine Buddha Mantra Mandala is a masterwork of sacred geometry and spiritual devotion, hand-painted by thangka artists in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.
At its heart sits Bhaisajyaguru, the Master of Healing, rendered in the profound, luminous blue of Lapis Lazuli to symbolize the transmutation of ignorance and physical ailment into the clarity of enlightened wisdom.
His right hand rests in the Varada Mudra, offering the Myrobalan plant as a balm for the world’s suffering, while his left holds the lapis-colored bowl of medicinal nectar.
Radiating outward from this central source of compassion are concentric rings of sacred Tibetan script, containing the potent vibrations of the Medicine Buddha’s dharani and the mantra.
These golden inscriptions act as a visual prayer, designed to harmonize the environment and purify the practitioner’s mind-stream. Framed by an intricate border of golden lotuses symbolizing the soul’s emergence from the mud of worldly attachment into the light of purity this mandala is more than an objet d’art it is a “thangka of the heart.”
