The vibrant cotton prayer flags (Lungta) are handmade in Nepal by skilled artisans, featuring an array of colors—white, blue, yellow, green, and red—adorned with sacred images, mantras, and prayers. These flags are strung together along their top edges, creating a beautiful display.
Lungta, a mythical creature symbolizing the union of wind and strength, serves to carry prayers from Earth to the heavens. In Tibetan culture, Lungta embodies fortune and good luck.
Tibetans believe that as the wind lifts these flags, their prayers are offered to deities, bringing blessings of health, happiness, and prosperity to all beings.
Each flag represents peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom, featuring five deities, including Green Tara and Guru Rinpoche.
