The ever-innovative Tibetan artist, on the other hand, was not satisfied with the aforementioned Mahakala visualizations. He was interested in the production of an icon that portrayed Mahakala’s position as a powerful guardian of Buddhist viharas in a forceful and hard-hitting manner.
