The Sanskrit terms prajna “knowledge” and paramita “perfection” are combined in the word Prajnaparamita. Prajnaparamita is a major idea in Mahayana Buddhism and it is most commonly associated with the notion of emptiness (Shunyata) or ‘absence of Svabhava’ (essence). Its study and practice are considered to be crucial aspect of the Bodhisattva’s path.
