Simhamukha Statue is made in Nepal by master statue artists. The weight of the statue is 1.5 kg and the size is 23 x 15 x 7cm.
The material used to make this statue is Copper Gold Plated. Lion-Faced Dakini is the English translation of Simhamukha or Senge Dongma. The Dakini Simhamukha is a tutelary deity arising from the Chakrasamvara cycle of Tantras and belongs to the Anuttarayoga ‘knowledge’ categorization, according to Indian traditions accepted by the Sarma schools.
Simhamukha is unrelated to a deity with the same name and looks who appeared in later indigenous Tibetan Nyingma ‘terma’ (treasure) traditions where she is considered as Guru Rinpoche’s secret form (Padmasambhava). This Dakini and female tantric Buddha, according to the Nyingma school is the chief Dakini teacher and one of the main ferocious manifestations of Padmasambhava who is the 8th Century mahasiddha who claims to be the founder of the same school.
