Iconography of Amoghasiddhi Buddha
Amoghasiddhi is one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas in Vajrayana Buddhism, symbolizing the attainment of wisdom and the conversion of jealousy into all-accomplishing wisdom. Linked with the northern direction and the air element, Amoghasiddhi represents the concept of attaining wisdom through change.
He is commonly shown seated in the vajra position, holding either a double vajra or a jewel that grants wishes. The Varada mudra, signifying the fulfillment of desires and courage, is the hand gesture linked with Amoghasiddhi. At times, he is joined by two bodhisattvas named Samayatara and Visvapani.
Amogha (Amoha) denotes the absence of ambiguity or spiritual ignorance, while siddhi denotes a mastery of a subject. As a result, there is a Master in Amoghasiddhi who can assist in the removal of spiritual obscurity and confusion.
