Deity Yamantaka is a Buddhist deity who is enraged. With 34 arms and a sharp weapon, he has a wrathful countenance. His most horrifying feature is a buffalo head with huge horns, which resembles the devil. Yamantaka is so powerful that he has defeated Yama, the “Lord of Death,” on his way to absolute enlightenment. Yamantaka, on the other hand, is a potent spiritual awakening technique.

Yamantaka is a violent aspect of Manjushri, a Bodhisattva who takes this form in order to vanquish Yama, the deity of death. By overcoming Yama, the cycle of rebirths (samsara) that inhibits enlightenment is broken.
