54 Cm maya devi statue is made in Nepal by statue artists. Queen Maya of Sakya was the historical Gautama Buddha’s birth mother, Siddhartha of the Gautama gotra, and the sister of Mahapajapati Gotami, the Buddha’s first Buddhist nun. In Sanskrit and Pali, “Maya” means “illusion” or “enchantment.”

Maya is also known by the names Mahamaya and Mayadevi. Gyutrulma is her Tibetan name. Queen Mayadevi was born in Nepal’s Devadaha kingdom. Maya married King Suddhodana, the ruler of Kapilvastu’s Sakya clan.

Her father was King of Devadaha, and she was the daughter of King Suddhodhana’s uncle and thus his cousin.
