Description

Handmade Statue of Vasudhara is made in Nepal by master statue artists. The weight of the statue is 0.74 kg and the size is 15 x 12 x 7cm.

The material used to make this statue is Copper. Vasudhara is the Buddhist bodhisattva of wealth, prosperity, and abundance, whose name means “stream of gems” in Sanskrit. She is revered in many Buddhist countries and is depicted in Buddhist art and stories.

Her Sanskrit name Vasundhara denotes that she is the progenitor of the eight “bountiful Vasus.” She is related to the Hindu goddess Lakshmi.

Vasudhara’s imagery is consistent. The beautiful hat and enormous amount of jewelry she wears plainly identify her as a bodhisattva. Her skin has a golden hue in bronze and painted images. This color is associated with precious metals and symbolizes opulence, fertility, and generosity in Buddhist iconography.
