Description
Tibetan Aparimita Statue is made in Nepal by statue artists. Aparimita is well-known for providing long life to worshippers. Aparimita is invoked or worshipped in the hopes of extending one’s life span or obtaining a quick reprieve from severe ailments or imminent death.
The dharani of Buddha Aparimita is frequently repeated by devotees in the presence of dying patients in Nepalese Mahayana tradition. When performed with the utmost earnestness, the recitation of this dharani is reported to be beneficial. It is stated that after reciting this dharani for one full day and night, the famed Madhyamika Buddhist philosopher Arya Nagarjuna survived his early death.
