Description

White Tara Statue – A Female Bodhisattva Mother is hand-carved in copper in Kathmandu by Nepali artisans. White Tara is seated in the statue in the more thoughtful diamond lotus pose, her legs curled beneath her and her gaze directed skyward. White Tara has seven eyes, one on each of her hands and feet, and one on her forehead, showing her compassionate awareness to perceive the world’s suffering.

Her wish-granting mudra is proper, but her guarding mudra is on her left hand. In her left hand, she usually bears a stem of the Utpala lotus flower with three blossoms. The first flower is a seed, the second is starting to blossom, and the third has fully bloomed.

The Buddhas of the past, present, and future are represented here. White Tara is prayed to for health, healing, and long life. She heals our wounds, whether they be physical or mental.
