Description
Amitabha Buddha Statue – Traditional Boddhisattva is made in Nepal by statue artists. Amitabha Buddha holds the Eternal Life Nectar Vase. The statue depicts the serene and peaceful face of the Infinite Life Buddha, who is seated in a vajra posture on a lotus seat.
According to legend, once upon a time, Amitabha was an emperor. He became a Dharmakara Bodhisattva monk after giving up his kingdom. The monk practiced for five eons before attaining enlightenment and becoming a Buddha. Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of Mercy and Wisdom.
He is tied to the third skandha, the skandha of perception. Tantric Meditation on Amitabha is the antidote for desire. He is sometimes shown between the bodhisattvas Avalokiteshvara and Mahasthamaprapta.
