Knowing and Seeing is written by ven. Pa – Aku Sayadaw. knowing & Seeing is a collection of presentations and Q&A sessions given by the Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadaw, abbot of Myanmar’s Pa-Auk Forest Monastery, at a meditation retreat (Burma). These lessons provide the Buddha’s teachings on jhana practice, a traditional Theravadan concentration meditation.

The Sayadaw teaches yogis, step by step, how to reach the stages of mental purification and vipassana knowledge, based on the original Pali suttas, the Visuddhimagga, and later commentaries. Pa-Auk Forest Monastery is a Theravada Buddhist monastery that focuses on the teaching and practice of Samatha (tranquility) and vipassana (insight) meditation.
