Copper Butter Lamp – Buddhist Ritual is hand-made with dimensions of 10 x 14cm. Butter lamps are also known as butter lights which can be found throughout the Himalayas in Tibetan Buddhist temples and monasteries.
Traditionally, the lamps were lit with clarified yak butter, but currently, vegetable oil or vanaspati ghee is more frequent. The butter lamps help to focus the mind during meditation. The Root Tantra of the Cakrasavara Tantra says, “If you strive to sublime realization, offer hundreds of lights.”
