Description
Sayutta Nikaya An Anthology – Part I is written by John D. Ireland. The Samyutta Nikaya is one of the five principal divisions of the Sutta Pitaka of the Pli canon, the Tipitaka, or Three Baskets of Doctrine which make up Theravda Buddhism’s Buddha-word.
The meaning of Samyutta Nikaya is The Collection of Grouped Discourses, and it is so named because its content is divided into fifty-six groups according to the subject. These are then divided into five Vaggas, or sections or chapters, which correspond to the anthology’s five divisions.
