Description
The Four Noble Truths is written by Ven Ajahn Sumedho. Ajahn Sumedho is a senior Western representative of Theravada Buddhism’s Thai forest tradition. From its consecration in 1984 to his retirement in 2010, he was the abbot of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in the United Kingdom. Ajahn means teacher, while Luang Por means Venerable Father who is an honorific and expression of esteem in Thai culture.
Sumedho has been a bhikkhu since 1967 and is widely regarded as a pivotal person in the transmission of the Buddha’s teachings to the West.
