Description
Urgyan Dorje Chang Thangka is handpainted in Kathmandu Nepal. Pema Jungne is the Vajra Holder from the of Oddiyana, Lotus Born from the set of Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava.
Padmasambhava received the name of Oddiyana Vajradhara after acquiring Mahayoga teachings from the buddha Vajrasattva and attaining the 9th level of a bodhisattva.
Guru Tsokyi Dorje (Lake Born Vajra) is the first of the Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche. This Sambhogakaya manifestation is also known as Guru Orgyen Dorje Chang.
He is shown with crossed hands embracing his consort. Their expressions are semi-wrathful. This a basic thangka; it is simple with vibrant colors. There is little decoration.
It is a “commissioned” thangka painted specifically for visualization practice.
