Educated at the Tibetan Institute of Varanasi, he earned a BA in Tibetan philosophy and studied various disciplines, including Sanskrit. Appointed as Dorje Lopön by Chatral Rinpoche in 1992, he has received teachings from esteemed masters like Dudjom Rinpoche and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
