About Shogen Jody Greene

Shogen Jody Greene began their Zen journey during a Tassajara work period in 2001. 

They received Jukai in 2005 and completed multiple Tassajara practice periods. In 2019, they served as shuso at Tassajara. 

Jody is a Professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, specializing in Literature and Feminist Studies. 

They are also the founding Director of the Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning at UCSC. 

Jody has taught meditation and yoga at various locations, including Tassajara and Ladakh, India, and is a board member at the San Francisco Zen Center.
