Cloud and Water is written by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Cloud and Water is a collection of Ch’an poems by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. What exactly do we mean when we say “cloud” and “water”? Clouds float as the river continues to flow. There is no grabbing in movement, and there is no settling in Ch’an.
The life of the cloud and water is a life of being present in the moment, constantly fresh and ready to learn. The tone and feel of these poems are similar, thus they’ve been grouped together. Many of these poems were written by well-known masters, while the writers of others are unknown.
Master Hsing Yun has provided a brief commentary on each of these verses, utilizing his many years of profound practice and understanding. Many anecdotes and even jokes can be found in the remarks.
