Representative Telo Tulku Rinpoche Welcomes India’s Lok Sabha Speaker Honourable Om Birla to Mongolia
Shri Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha (India’s lower house of Parliament), took a trip to Ulaanbaatar during his three-day official visit to Mongolia and paid homage at the Central Gandantegchinlen Monastery.
The India Council for Cultural Relations presented the ‘Distinguished Buddhist Award’ to Khamba Nomun Khan Gabju Choijamts Demberel, in recognition of his efforts to promote Buddhism and strengthen spiritual ties between India and Mongolia.
Khamba Nomun Khan is the Supreme Head of Mongolian Buddhists and serves as the Abbot of Gandan Tegchenling Monastery and Head of the Centre of Mongolian Buddhists.
In addition, Erdne Ombadykow known as Telo Tulku Rinpoche, the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Mongolia, Russia and CIS countries, was present at the reception to welcome Speaker Om Birla.
