Ann Shaftel
Accredited in 1997, I am a conservator specializing in thangkas. As a Fellow of IIC and AIC, my journey began in 1972, leading to formal training at ICCROM in 1974 and an MSc in Conservation from Winterthur in 1978. With an MA in Asian Art History, I've honed my craft for 53 years, including a 15-year apprenticeship with a Tibetan painting master. I serve as a consultant and conservator for Buddhist monasteries, major museums, and private clients worldwide, offering on-site expertise in preserving and restoring these invaluable cultural treasures.
