About Dolma Ling Nunnery

The Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, funded by the Tibetan Nuns Project, is a non-denominational religious institution located in the Kangra valley near Dharamsala, India. 

It was officially opened on December 8, 2005 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and currently houses around 250 nuns. This institute is unique in that it is the first of its kind to provide higher education in Buddhism for Tibetan nuns from all sects.
