About Gelongma Palmo
Gelongma Pelmo, an influential figure in Himalayan and Tibetan Buddhism, is credited with founding the nyungne fasting meditation practice. Linked with Avalokiteśvara and Tārā, she's also associated with Vajrayoginī and sahaja practices. Born in Kashmir in the 9th-11th centuries, she renounced royalty, overcame leprosy through fasting and meditation, and introduced the nyungne practice for karma purification.
