About Geshe Lobsang Monlam

Geshe Lobsang Monlam, who established the Monlam Tibetan IT Research Center, started his exploration of the computer world in 2002 when he purchased his first computer out of pure curiosity.

During that time, there were no available fonts for the Tibetan language. As a result, he delved into studying fonts and conducted research on creating fonts for the Tibetan language, specifically ume and uchen fonts.

In 2015, the initial version of the Monlam Grand Tibetan Dictionary was successfully completed.

Currently, the Monlam IT center is actively involved in various areas of literature and technology to preserve and expand Tibetan culture and literature.
