About Ignorance

Ignorance, in the context of Dharma teachings, refers to a fundamental misunderstanding of reality. It involves a deep-seated belief in the existence of a solid, independently existing self or phenomena, contrary to the teachings on emptiness and interdependence. This ignorance perpetuates suffering by obscuring the true nature of things, leading to attachment, aversion, and confusion. Overcoming ignorance involves recognizing the illusory nature of inherent existence and cultivating wisdom to perceive the interdependent and impermanent nature of all phenomena.
