About Jue Liang

Jue Liang is a scholar of Tibetan Buddhism, holding BA and MA degrees from Renmin University of China (2009, 2011), an MA from the University of Chicago (2013), and a PhD from the University of Virginia (2020) in Religious Studies. Her research delves into gender discourses within Buddhist communities, exploring continuities and innovations. With a keen interest in translation theory and practice, she focuses on translating Tibetan literature. Currently completing her first book on Yeshé Tsogyel, Jue is concurrently working on a project examining gender in contemporary Tibetan Buddhism.
