About Khen Rinpoche Hungtrampa

Hungtram Khen Rinpoche, born in 1982 in Nepal's Dolpo region, hails from the esteemed Buddhist lineage of Hungtram. His initial education was under the guidance of his grandfather, the Dzogchen master Hungtram Rinpoche.

At the age of nine, he relocated to Kathmandu with his brother and joined Shechen Monastery, where he received teachings from prominent contemporary Nyingma teachers. Excelling in his studies, he graduated from the Shechen Philosophical College (Shedra) with the highest Khenpo degree.

Khen Rinpoche's deep understanding of the Dharma and proficiency in Nepali led him to serve as a translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Drupwang Penor Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche, and Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche.

In 2007, he made history as the first-ever Buddhist Religious leader appointed to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, with a special role in assisting Gurkha battalions in the British Army. He has also provided guidance and teachings to these soldiers during their deployments in Afghanistan.

Currently residing in the UK, Khen Rinpoche imparts his wisdom in various Buddhist centers, schools, and universities across the country.
