About Lama Karma Chotso

Lama Karma Chötso, Resident Teacher at Open Awareness Buddhist Center in Miami, began her Buddhist journey in 1982 after meeting Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche. Ordained as a nun in 1986, she completed a traditional three-year retreat in 1990. Lama Karma Chötso, a dedicated practitioner of the Kagyu lineage, has studied Madhyamaka and Vajrayana extensively. She founded the first Kagyu center in Hollywood, Florida, in 1997 and has built stupas in Miami and Peru, fostering spiritual and community well-being.
