About Nikayas

Nikayas are collections of early Buddhist scriptures found within the Sutta Pitaka of the Pali Canon. They are divided into five groups: Digha Nikaya (Long Discourses), Majjhima Nikaya (Middle-Length Discourses), Samyutta Nikaya (Connected Discourses), Anguttara Nikaya (Numerical Discourses), and Khuddaka Nikaya (Minor Collection). Each Nikaya comprises numerous suttas (discourses) attributed to the Buddha and his close disciples, forming a core component of Theravada Buddhist teachings and practice.
