About Nyichang Khentrül Rinpoche

Venerable Nyichang Khentrül Rinpoche, a Tibetan lama residing in Japan for over 40 years, received teachings from the Nyingma lineage and other Tibetan Buddhist lineages. Born on March 10, 1932, in Tibet, Rinpoche studied under various renowned masters and rose to the position of teacher at 18. He escaped to India during the Chinese invasion in 1959 and received teachings from eminent teachers. At the request of the Dalai Lama, Rinpoche began teaching in Japan in 1974, emphasizing fidelity to tradition and the importance of practicing the ngöndro preliminary practices of Dzogchen.
