About Penpa Tsering

Penpa Tsering, born in 1967, is a Tibetan politician who currently resides in India. He is the second democratically elected leader, known as Sikyong, of the Central Tibetan Administration in India. He took over from the previous Sikyong, Lobsang Sangay, on May 27, 2021. Prior to his current role, Penpa Tsering served as the speaker of the Parliament of the Central Tibetan Administration for two terms, from 2008 to 2016.
