About Ramon Magsaysay Awards

The Ramon Magsaysay Award is a yearly accolade created to recognize and honor people in Asia who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields and have selflessly served others without expecting any recognition. The award was named after the seventh president of the Philippines, Ramon Magsaysay, and was established in 1957 by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund in partnership with the Philippine government. Since its founding, more than 300 remarkable individuals and organizations have been honored with the award.
