About Vimalakirti Buddhist Centre

The Vimalakirti Buddhist Centre, also known as Cheng Beng Buddhist Society, is a Buddhist monastery in Singapore.

It was established in 1961 by Venerable Wen Ming Hu and other lay Buddhists as the Singapore Buddhist Youth Group, and was later renamed to its current name and moved to Geylang, Singapore, courtesy of Chen Lu Niang.

The name of the society pays homage to the bodhisattva Vimalakirti, a householder devotee of the ancient Shakyamuni Buddha.
