The Hevajra Tantra underpins the exceptional features of Lamdre teachings. They were first received by the Indian Mahasiddha Virupa in the 7th century, who established the lineage and passed on the teachings to a line of pupils in India. Virupa also wrote Vajragatha or pith instructions.
