Historic Monastery of Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling damaged

Kagbeni, a town located in the Mustang District of ’s Gandaki Province, experienced flooding on August 13th due to the Kagbeni River overflowing its banks.

The devastation in this significant region for faith and tourism has been immense; as of the of this article’s release, 31 buildings have been destroyed and more than 150 people have been forced to relocate.

The destruction of homes and disruption of livelihoods due to disasters is a heartbreaking tragedy, but sites that attract tourists and pilgrims are also at risk.
