Life at Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute
Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute, located in northern India, is a unique establishment created by the Tibetan Nuns Project.
This organization was founded with the goal of educating and empowering nuns of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to become teachers and leaders, as well as to preserve Tibetan religion and culture.
Currently, the facility is home to around 250 nuns, many of whom have sponsors, although new sponsors are always welcome.
The nunnery stands out due to its comprehensive curriculum, which spans 17 years and includes both traditional Buddhist philosophy and debate, as well as modern classes in Tibetan language, English, basic math, and computer literacy.
In addition, the nuns receive instruction in ritual arts such as sand mandalas and butter sculpture.
