Milarepa Center’s Solar Project in Vermont, US

In October 2023, Center, located on 276 acres of land in Barnet, Vermont, USA, finished constructing a 500 kW AC solar array project in collaboration with Norwich Solar Technologies, a nearby clean energy company.

The project took around 16 months to finish and Milarepa Center will maintain the array on their property for the next quarter of a century.

Dawn Holtz, the director of the Milarepa Center, saw the potential for solar energy to be utilized in the open field next to the electrical transmission corridor on the property due to her expertise in Renewable Energies and Sustainable Business Management.

The Milarepa Center has recently installed a solar array on their land, which will be of great benefit to the remaining dairy farms and dairies in Vermont that are struggling due to rising costs and competition.

This project will also help the center itself, as it will provide a modest income to offset regular operating expenses and allow them to fulfill the of a new hall and holy objects.
