Sitatapatra or Dukkar – the ultimate protective Bodhisattva Goddess

Sitatapatra or Dukkar, the form of Mother Tara, is a Bodhisattva Goddess who is seen as the ultimate protector.

Whether she has 1000 arms or 2, she is known as “Aparajita” – the Undefeatable One.

Do not be deceived by the tranquil image of the two-armed white Sitatapatra; this is actually the most powerful manifestation of Mother Tara.

She can appear as a gentle goddess with a parasol, or as a formidable figure with a thousand heads, arms, legs, and eyes.
