About Center for the Study of Apparent Selves
The Center for the Study of Apparent Selves (CSAS) in Kathmandu, Nepal, serves as a global hub for interdisciplinary research and teaching. Originally focusing on bridging Buddhism and AI, CSAS now integrates insights from developmental and evolutionary biology, culminating in the SCI-loop model. Through collaborative research, teaching, and outreach, CSAS fosters understanding of human interconnectedness and capacity for care. Inspired by the Himalayas, CSAS navigates global challenges while promoting ethical and aesthetically fulfilling models of intelligence for societal flourishing.
