About Karma Gongde

Karma Gongde has been with BDRC since 2007, cataloging and creating outlines for its extensive Tibetan text collection while also managing the English and Hindi book collections. He holds an Acharya (M.A.) in Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language (1991) and a B.Ed. (1992) from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Sarnath, India. Karma's early career included teaching Tibetan language and Buddhist studies, as well as working as a Research Assistant on the Tibetan-Sanskrit Dictionary. Since moving to the USA in 2002, he has taught Tibetan language courses and contributed to various translation projects.
