About Mount Everest School

Mount Everest School, founded in 1971 by Lama Zopa Rinpoche and relocated to Kopan due to harsh conditions, blends traditional Tibetan monastic education with a modern curriculum. With 270 monks aged 7 to 25, the school integrates Nepalese and universal education principles, covering subjects from languages to science. The curriculum includes intensive language studies, daily prayer memorization, and extracurricular activities like debates and drama. Facilities include science labs and a computer room, fostering both academic and artistic growth. Regular excursions and physical exercise are also part of the holistic education approach.
