About Ngawang Lodro Dragpa

Ngawang Lodro Drakpa (1920-1975), born into the nomadic Zira family in Dzamtang, Amdo, was a prominent Jonang and Rimey master. From a young age, he displayed a profound inclination towards learning and spirituality. At twelve, he joined the Darnga Hermitage, and by thirteen, he had taken monastic vows. Known for his exceptional memorization skills and deep meditation practices, Lodro Drakpa composed numerous works on Buddhist philosophy and tantric practice. His dedication to the Dharma continued despite imprisonment during the Cultural Revolution, leaving a lasting legacy in the Jonang tradition.
