About Oren Hanner

Oren Hanner is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at NYU Abu Dhabi, specializing in ethics, the philosophy of emotions, and Buddhist philosophy. His research explores cross-cultural perspectives, particularly in the intersection of Buddhist ethics and contemporary debates on justice and collective agency. Holding a PhD in Buddhist Studies from the University of Hamburg, Hanner is the editor of "Buddhism and Scepticism: Historical, Philosophical, and Comparative Perspectives" (Projekt Verlag, 2020) and serves as the book review editor for the Journal of Buddhist Ethics. Prior to his current role, he held positions as a junior research fellow at the University of Hamburg and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
