This painting shows the life of Buddha. Buddha was born as the prince in Lumbini, Nepal in the Terai lowlands near the foothills of the Himalayas. The Life of Buddha is composed of “Twelve Great Deeds of Buddha”.
Each step is explained in this painting. The painting is elegantly handpainted by Master Thangka Artist living in Kapan, Nepal.
Sakya Clan
Buddha was born as the prince in Lumbini, Nepal in the Terai lowlands near the foothills of the Himalayas. He was a member of the Sakyas clan. His father, Suddhodana, was king of the clan. His mother was named Maya. He was born in Sakya Clan so he was called Shakyamuni Buddha.
Life Of Buddha shows all the stages of his life. One night in 535 about the age of 35, he was seated underneath a large tree later known as the Bodhi tree. He began to experience some major spiritual breakthroughs. He developed the ability to recall the events of his previous reincarnations in detail.

My husband got this for me as a birthday present. I was clueless as to what this was because it came in a cylindrical package. I thought that this was on stretched canvas so I could just hang it up, but unfortunately it did not. It was rolled up on a canvas but not stretched. The detail is beautiful and the piece looks very distinguished.
