BuddhaFest 2024 Celebrates Women in Buddhism
From July 15 to August 26, 2024, the Buddhist Film Foundation (BFF) is presenting BuddhaFest, a noteworthy event in collaboration with Lion’s Roar, featuring the International Buddhist Film Festival (IBFF).
This year’s BuddhaFest focuses on highlighting women in Buddhism through a curated selection of 14 films and nine new talks by prominent figures like Tara Brach and Sharon Salzberg.
The program spans diverse themes, showcasing women ranging from monastics to activists across various Buddhist traditions and geographical locations.
BuddhaFest offers an online all-access pass, granting viewers discounted entry to the films, talks, and performances.
This pass includes encore talks from previous BuddhaFests by speakers such as Joanna Macy and Sylvia Boorstein, and musical performances by Maria Joao Pires and Drukmo Gyal Dakini, enhancing the cultural and spiritual richness of the festival.
With a commitment to celebrating and exploring Buddhist teachings through film and discourse, BuddhaFest 2024 promises to be a profound journey into the lives and contributions of women in Buddhism, resonating with audiences seeking inspiration and insight into contemporary Buddhist practices and perspectives.
