Monlam Prayer Festival held at Punakha in Bhutan

The 7th Moenlam Chenmo, also known as the “Monlam Prayer Festival” commenced on January 20th in Punakha, Bhutan.
This festival, which aligns with the 10th day of the 12th lunar month in the Bhutanese calendar, will take place for six days at Thangzona Choekhang from January 20th to January 25th.
The Punakha Dzongkhag Administration and Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS) reported that approximately 7,000 devotees from Punakha’s monastic authorities, temples, and teaching centers gathered in the Himalayan kingdom.
Around 700 monks and nuns are present at the event, which started on the 20th and includes various activities such as reciting the King of Aspiration Prayer for the past four days.
