Pilgrimage to Leh Jokhang

Shewatsel, Leh, Ladakh, – This , His Holiness the drove from Shewatsel Phodrang into Leh city, where he made a pilgrim’s visit to the , the principal there. He was welcomed by officials at the gate and by inside the temple.

He paid his respects before the images, saluted the congregation and took his seat. “Having arrived in Ladakh,” His Holiness told the gathering, “today, I’ve come here to the Jokhang. We all rely on the following verse from ‘Entering the Way:

As long as space endures, and as long as sentient beings remain, until then, may I too remain to help dispel the misery of the world.
