Refurbished Rural School for the Underprivileged in India
The Foundation of His Sacred Majesty (FHSM), a socially engaged Buddhist non-profit organization, recently completed a significant project in the Jhajjar District of Haryana, India.
The organization finalized the renovation and resupply of a rural school in Fatehpur Village, underscoring its commitment to supporting underprivileged communities across India.
FHSM President Rev. Gauthama Prabhu elaborated on the project’s scope, stating that the refurbishment included providing essential supplies such as school bags, uniforms, shoes, plates, stationery, and sweaters for the students.
Additionally, the organization undertook comprehensive repairs, repainting, and renovation of the school building.
Crucially, FHSM installed vital facilities including a drinking water tank, a reverse-osmosis filtration system, and water coolers to ensure access to clean water for the students.
Headquartered in Chennai, FHSM operates in nine Indian states, guided by the principles of socially engaged Buddhism.
Their multifaceted approach encompasses initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy, promoting sustainable livelihoods, education, social empowerment, alternative healthcare systems, and environmental conservation.
