The RYI celebrates the next generation of scholars
The Rangjung Yeshe Institute (RYI) Translation Training Program proudly celebrates the graduation of its students, carrying forward the legacy of past Lotsawas who safeguarded Buddhadharma.
Despite preparations for the Thousand Buddha Temple opening in Lumbini, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche returned to RYI to honor the new graduates.
These individuals, hailing from diverse backgrounds and proficient in multiple languages, embody vast potential to serve others, akin to a single drop creating widening ripples.
Chökyi Nyima underlined the significance of studying Buddhadharma, emphasizing its accessibility to lay practitioners today, unlike in the past when it was confined to the monastic Sangha.
He stressed the practical application of teachings, highlighting the ultimate goal of attaining Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings.
Inspired by Nyima’s guidance and the purpose he reignited, the hope is for these graduates to become scholar-practitioners, walking in the footsteps of revered Lotsawas from history.
Their journey marks a continuation of the profound tradition of transmitting the Dharma across languages and cultures, ensuring its accessibility and relevance for generations to come.
